4th Transatlantic Economic Dialogue
June 9 - 10, 2011, Cadenabbia, Lake Como
“Diverging Lessons from the Crisis – How to Achieve Sustainable Growth”
For the fourth time, some 40 experts, including politicians and business representatives, came together for an open dialogue about key issues in European-American economic relations. At the invitation of the BMW Foundation and the SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations, this year’s workshop took place in the historic setting of the Adenauer villa on the western shore of Lake Como. Once again, it is held with the partnership of GARNET, an academic network of excellence. The roundtable discussions focused on the following issues:
- A Turbulent Decade? The Future of the Eurozone and of Fiscal Policies in the OECD Countries
- Lessons for Monetary Policy: Redefining Prudent Central Bank Policy
- Diverging Strategies to Promote Growth: Europe vs. the U.S.
- Fiscal Policies in the OECD: How Can We Fund Future Liabilities?
A well-established expert forum, the Transatlantic Economic Dialogue draws on academic analyses to examine key economic issues in the future of the transatlantic relationship.
