Center for Societal Progress
An independent think tank based on American models, the Center for Societal Progress seeks to improve the conditions for societal progress, prosperity, and people’s well-being by contributing sound and creative analyses to the public debate. It takes a future-oriented and interdisciplinary approach to issues such as growth, education, health, and the legal system.
The Center for Societal Progress sees itself as an independent think tank and builds bridges between academic research and globally available public knowledge and society, governments, and the media.
The BMW Foundation supports the Center for Societal Progress in a variety of ways; it thus wants to promote the key issues of the Center and also contribute to strengthening independent think tanks in Germany and across Europe.
Following the Progress Academy, which took place on March 23, 2010, another event was held in cooperation with the Center for Societal Progress. Guided by the World Café format, participants discussed socio-politically relevant and future-oriented issues. “Bright Prospects – Positive Futures”
Future doesn’t simply happen, but is influenced by individual, social, economic, and political actions. The “Bright Prospects” project aims to show and analyze positive futures and present attractive and constructive visions for the future as a counterpoint to the stories of decline that are widespread in Germany.
