FoundationReport 2009/10

April 28, 2009, Berlin
"Involvement Knows No Age"

What do the young, the middle-aged and the elderly do in terms of social involvement? What moves and motivates them? Why do they get involved? And what conditions have to be created to get even more people involved? These are the questions addressed by the FoundationReport 2009/2010. The report focuses on the various forms of involvement in the three stages of life – youth, middle age, and old age. In addition, the FoundationReport also deals with cross-generational involvement and with social entrepreneurs and businesses.

Each chapter is a mix of background information and reports, portraits and interviews. The FoundationReport focuses on the many new forms of involvement that have been developed and succeeded in recent years. The variety and number of initiatives and projects prove the vitality of German society.

The FoundationReport moreover contains the results of a representative poll about how Germans view voluntary involvement in times of financial crisis as well as the most recent statistics on German foundations.
