Social Enterprise – Social Investment
October 14, 2010, Munich
Venture philanthropy funds see themselves as intermediaries between socially oriented investors and third-sector enterprises looking for capital. But finding the right match between investors and capital-seekers is just one aspect of social investments. Besides its financial-technical aspect, “social investment” also has a lot to do with personal engagement, strategic thinking, and often investing one’s fortune.
This broader perspective underlies the third event in the “Social Enterprise” discussion series, which is organized in cooperation with UBS Deutschland AG and our partners Ashoka Germany and Stiftungszentrum.de. Selected speakers representing different concepts – investments in a socio-political vision, in organizational structures, or in projects – will present the variety and diversity of social investments.
Through this series, the Foundation wants to provide orientation in the ever-diversifying world of social and civic engagement and provide ideas and inspiration for social action. The series sees itself as an open discussion forum enabling a cross-sectoral exchange of experiences.
