4th German-Russian Dialogue Baden-Baden
October 10-16, 2011, Baden-Baden
“The Market Economy of the Future – Competing for the Best System”
Now in its fourth year, the German-Russian Dialogue Baden-Baden has established itself as a key venue for the cooperation between German and Russian Young Leaders. Gathering around this year’s topic of “The Market Economy of the Future – Competing for the Best System,” the participants joined entrepreneurs, company executives, political leaders, and scholars to discuss the development of the two countries’ economic policies and economic cooperation, also in comparison to other world regions.
The approximately 30 participants from Germany and Russia had the benefit of presentations by high-ranking guest speakers such as entrepreneur Dr. Martin Herrenknecht, CEO of Herrenknecht AG, and Natalya Kasperskaya, chair of the board of directors of Kaspersky Lab, who talked about innovation as the foundation for long-term business success. In conversation with, among others, Dr. Theodor Weimer, spokesman of the board of HypoVereinsbank, and Dr. Hannes Rehm, former spokesman of the executive committee of the Federal Agency for Financial Market Stabilization (SoFFin), the Young Leaders discussed the need for appropriate financial market regulation. Other high-ranking panels featured lively discussions on issues such as corporate responsibility, compliance under Russian business conditions, and the future of energy security.
The six-day seminar was accompanied by an exclusive supporting program with plenty of opportunities for informal, personal meetings and conversations.
The German-Russian Dialogue Baden-Baden is organized by the BMW Foundation in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.
