International Diplomats Programme

The International Diplomats Programme invites young diplomats from the Near and Middle East, Northern Africa, South and Southeast Asia to experience Germany from a variety of perspectives.
Informational visits and expert talks introduce the participants to aspects of Germany that are relevant for their profession and provide first-hand information. Through monthly events, the International Diplomats Programme introduces the young diplomats to German issues and institutions across the country and provides them with insights that go deeper than their daily routine on the job.

Thus, young diplomats gain new perspectives and competent partners for their work. The program increases their opportunities for cooperation and provides them with more possibilities and career options in the sense of a modern "Diplomacy by Networking."
The program is directed by a former German ambassador who, drawing on his long experience and regional knowledge, provides both expert and personal guidance for the participants throughout the program year.

An initiative by the Federal Foreign Office and the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt with support from the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
