The 3rd International Diplomats Programme was opened on March 1 by Dr. Peter Ammon, State Secretary in the Federal Foreign Office, and with a speech by Marianne Birthler, Federal Commissioner for the Stasi Archives of the former GDR. 
Until November the 3rd IDP includes monthly excursions and round tables with high-ranking conversational partners from the field of poiltics, economy and society, in Berlin and Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Saxony and Hesse.

The twelve selected participants are from the countries of India, Saudi-Arabia, Jordania, Israel, Indonesia, Sudan, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Iran and Morocco.
