From September 22 – 24, the BMW Foundation together with the Breuninger Foundation was holding the 1st German Young Leaders Workshop in Paretz near Potsdam. This immersion workshop continued what the BMW Foundation’s Give & Gain pilot project had started in 2010, which had brought together a select group of charitable organizations in order to back up their human resource and organizational development. 

The 1st German Young Leaders Workshop  now more deeply involved our Young Leaders Network, by giving selected organizations the possibility of discussing concrete organizational challenges with members of the BMW Foundation’s Young Leaders Network. The BMW Foundation had asked all members of the Give & Gain network as well as other organizations that we have cooperated with in the past to provide us with workshop suggestions. Six of these suggestions had been selected for the event in Paretz and were thoroughly discussed together with 50 Young Leaders from various sectors. 

By putting a sharp eye on organizational challenges and bringing in the professional experience of Young Leaders, the event was meant to assist the selected organizations in reaching innovative solutions. Thus, the workshop aimed at utilizing a broad range of expertise, contacts, and professional competence for charitable purposes.
