5th Young Leaders Lecture
"From Child Soldier to Hip Hop Star”, a Screening and Discussion with Christian Karim Chrobog will be the 5th Young Leaders Lecture in Berlin and Munich. War Child had its world premiere at the Berlinale in 2008 and was shown at numerous international festivals. The film received, among other prizes, the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival 2008 in New York and the Award for Best Documentary at the international film festivals in Bologna and Bergen.

The Economic and Political Perspectives of Croatia in the European Union
As part of its International Lectures series, the Croatian president Stjepan Mesic will give a talk about the current status of the EU accession negotiations and the perspectives for his country in the European community of states. Additional topics will be Croatia’s recent joining of NATO, the relationship with its neighbor Slovenia, and the economic and political development in Southeast Europe.

For the second time, the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt brings together international leaders from its young leaders network for a World Young Leaders Forum. The Forum seeks to strengthen the dialogue and relationships among the young leaders from currently 45 countries, a host of disciplines and 15 years of conferences and strengthen their commitment as leaders.

Lecture Series on "Responsibility"
In cooperation with the Student Representatives of the Political Science and Philosophy departments of the University of Munich (LMU) and Prof. Dr. Julian Nida-Rümelin, the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt organizes a lecture and discussion series on the topic of “Responsibility.”
4th Programme Event
The excursion on 25 and 26 June brought the participants of the 1st International Diplomats Programme to the cities Nuremberg and Munich.
Starting on Thursday, 25 June the participants went to Nuremberg where the head office of the Federal Employment Agency is located. In Munich they visited the BMW World as well as the Munich Municipal Museum.
Corporate Citizenship and/in the Media
A new way of doing business, pure rhetoric or mere decorative frills? – The media has the power to either make or break the public perception of corporate citizenship: through agenda-setting, by providing a critical public with reliable information, and not least because of the respect it shows for committed companies through its coverage. The dual role of the media between coverage and entrepreneurship is the focus of a corporate citizenship fireside chat entitled “Corporate Citizenship and/in the Media,” organized by the BMW Foundation.
Panel Discussion on "Transparency"
In the past two to three years, many big, internationally active companies have adopted measures to comply with laws and regulations. These so-called Compliance measures are a response to the uncovering of corruption cases in international tenders, which were prosecuted by both the legal authorities and securities commissions.
